HORIZON WEST – Nicole Mickle

A simple idea that originated back in the early 1990s in a Winter Garden restaurant get together. Isn’t that the way of things? An idea between a few visionaries which took on epic proportions to become perhaps one of the greatest master planned communities ever. Horizon West has several different communities, retail stores, schools and parks. It is a world within itself. I’d be happy to show you around if you are interested, but first let’s start by talking about what makes Horizon West so unique. Horizon West offers resort style pools AND the location is close to Walt Disney World. This is one of the reasons folks relocate to the area and fall in love with Horizon West. Imagine being able to view Disney’s nightly fireworks show right from home. Other locals are interested in moving into this area because of the potential growth and the energy efficiency of the homes. The community was developed based on the resident must haves. Bike Trails, residential dining, close to 429 (highway), lake front lots, golf courses, resort style pools, and conservation areas.

Horizon West has numerous neighborhoods. Here are a few of builders currently in the area: Pulte, Meritage (Water Mark), Aston Woods (Latham Park), Toll Brothers (Lakeshore), MI Homes, CalAtlantic, that I have worked with personally. The specific Horizon West community I’d like to mention is Latham Park. Latham Park is a new neighborhood with numerous single family residences in all price ranges. ($250K and up) There is a community pool and cabana, which is great and the location is surrounded by trees and conservation.

I just listed a beautiful home in this community. You can see they are constructed with a solid focus on the details that make a building a home. They are also built to last and are very energy efficient. The quality of construction is impeccable. You really have to experience the home in person. Here are a couple examples of the fine details that are designed into the homes.

At Horizon West you will not run out of things to do. If you are a golf enthusiast, you will find Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge. If water is more your style, then there’s R.D. Keene Park and Boat Ramp. You’ll find plenty of opportunities to exercise at the Roper YMCA or take your bike out on to the West Orange Bike Trail. If you have active little ones, there you’ll find Windermere Little League Fields. Maybe you’d rather have a quiet stroll at Tibet-Butler Preserve. There’s so much to do and only a set number of hours to do it all in. I’d say you better not waste any more time.
