Orlando Glamping – You know you wanna try it!

Orlando Glamping

School is officially out and while looking for something different to do with friends and family for the summer, I noticed a post on Instagram from a Mom of 3 who has a blog called, “OrlandoMommy.com.”  On this blog, she gives great tips about local events and things to do.  I came across a new adventure that she recently started called, “Glamping.”  Glamping is defined as, “glamorous camping.”  I even thought this may be something I could get with.  Yeah…camping was never my thing even as a Girl Scout.  I knew I had to reach out to her to get more details about this so I could share with others who are like me. Oh and before we continue with the interview, I came across another article you might wish to read after this interview called, “4 Can’t-Miss Glamping Experiences,” by AllTheRooms.com blog.

Tell me the reason why you bought an RV?

We love to travel! We love road trips. We love traveling with our kids (well, most of the time). So, buying an RV was an easy family decision and we haven’t looked back on it since. This is actually our 2nd RV that we have owned and is our very first travel trailer which is a better fit for our “camping style”. Our first camper was a 1994 Class A, which we purchased before my 3rd little bundle of “boy” was born. Life is funny that way. I never would have imagined we would have an RV rental business (or 3 boys) but sometimes the thing we’re looking for actually finds us.

Have you always been a “glamper?”

I have this love/hate relationship with camping – I love nature, being outside, sunsets, hiking, watching stars at night, you know, the BEAUTY in adventure, but… I HATE bugs. So, camping; nope, never my thing. My husband on the other hand, was a Marine, so a blow-up mattress on the ground is like staying at a JW Marriott. (Eye roll) Safe to say, my Hubby got me into this, “Bass Pro Shop” life and it’s funny, but I’m ALL IN now. Which is how @OrlandoGlamping came to be. I was a Graphic Designer and I also owned my own pottery business, and I realize now, that my passion has always been, “making things pretty”. I just love creating happiness and really enjoy leaving something better than how I found it. I’m a making people happy, makes me happy, kinda girl. This is my new adventure in making people happy!

What inspired you to open your camper to others?

We decided to start renting out our RV from time to time because why not, it’s just sitting there 80% of the time right? Why not make a few bucks and let others enjoy it without having to go out and buy their own. Let’s be honest, you buy these toys and don’t use it as often as you would im-agine when you first buy it – life has a way of getting in the way sometimes. #baseballmom #soc-cermom  So, this is for those of you out there who want the RV experience but not the commitment. You know, like dating back in High School. (Fist bump) We provide all the basic necessities you’ll need (plates, cups, silverware, pots, pans, bath towels, bed linens, etc.) and some not so basic extras of course, because it’s called Glamping, right?! We can deliver and set-up locally, so you just have to bring the fam or the girls (girls gone glamping?), we got you covered!

What is your favorite location to Glamp:

Our favorite spot is Disney’s Ft. Wilderness Campground. They’re close to home, and they have a beautiful campground that has a restaurant, pools, movie nights by a campfire, true glamping.

What do you enjoy most about “Glamping”:

Visiting new places, having new experiences, exploring and spending time with my family. That makes me a happy camper!
